Book under publication: "A Conceptual Perspective of Conflict Management"
"A Conceptual Perspective of Conflict Management" is a book in preparation for publishing by Delwar Jahid, Fmr Research Fellow of St. Paul’s College, University of Manitoba, founder of Bangabandhu's Bangladesh Campaign.
The book is reviewing the most important and practically relevant quantitative models for understanding and managing conflict situations, as these exist throughout the world including, but not limited to, negotiation, mediation, diplomacy, and creative peace building.
Conflict management, otherwise known as the systematic process of settlement, is also conceptualized as the methods and processes involved in facilitating the peaceful ending of conflict and retribution. The book presents a wide range of options for the process of managing conflicts, including planning, setting goals, reaching a compromise, mediation techniques, conflict processing, and resolution methods.
Secondary to the notion that there is not one correct approach to conflict management, and utilizing the authors' shared experiences as mediators and organizational facilitators, this book determines the value of collaborative models for resolving conflict and the necessity and benefits in understanding competitive approaches. Through the inclusion of both, competitive and cooperative theories, the author presents contrasting perspectives of conflict management.
